What is Xcode?
Xcode is a IDE, which hold all the tools needed to build an application for iOS, OSX and other apple hardware. You will need a valid Apple Id for this process to sign into the App Store. Xcode 9 is the latest version of Xcode as of this article.
First of all Xcode does not run on Windows computers, you have to have a Macintosh computer to use Xcode.If you are still running an earlier OS such as Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan etc, you will need to update your OS to the latest version to get the latest build of Xcode.
How to Install Xcode?
Install Xcode is fairly easy, we can get started by heading over to the Mac App Store and search for Xcode. Once you have found the Application you can go ahead and download it, Xcode is a free application so just click the “Get” or “Download” button and start the installation process.
You will be asked to sign in with your Apple ID, if you don’t one just click create an Apple ID otherwise sign in. The download should start but might take a while depending on your connection, as Xcode is around 4-5 GB.
Xcode is several gigabytes in size so downloading it could take a while, after it has downloaded everything will be installed in the /Applications folder. After everything is installed you should be able to open up Xcode and start programming.
